The UAE chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society was established on January 26, 2015 aiming at fostering remote sensing research in the UAE by bringing together the remote sensing researchers and professionals. It proposes facilitating the active collaborations and establishing a robust link among various universities, industry and government agencies in the UAE. The UAE chapter enhances the awareness of the Emirati community of the vitality of the remote sensing and its applications through conducting a series of meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences for highlighting the best up-to-date practices in this domain. The UAE GRSS chapter’s activities have developed dramatically in terms of the significant increase of its members and the growth of its multi-dimensional activities.
