IEEE Skyline University College Student Branch organized Innovation Competition -23 on 18 May 2023.The objective of this event to foster and encourage the innovative skills of students’ worldwide.

Thirty different projects from twenty universities across seven countries catering to science and engineering fields are presented. Dr.Hussam Al hamadi -IEEE UAE Section Vice chair motivated the participants and mentors to continue the spirit. Dr.Ahmed Al-Gindy, IEEE UAE Student activity chair congratulates the participants for their innovative ideas about the project that are selected for presentation. The Vice chancellor of Skyline University College, Sharjah, Prof. Mohammad Hassan Saleh Inairat welcome all participants and mentioned the future probability of startups opportunities of the projects. Dr. Deepak Kalra, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Skyline University college highlighted the role of Skyline in supporting such activities. Prof.Ghassan Issa –Dean-School of Computing of Skyline University College mentioned the objective and different activities that being conducted under IEEE Skyline Student Branch.

The first place winner is Hajer Ben Mnaouer for the project “Ai-Guided Delivery Robot” from Canadian University, UAE. The second place winner is Raynusri A/P Srivenkatarao for the project “Smart Wheelchair with Voice Controller and Obstacle Avoidance Feature Using Arduino” from INTI International University, Malaysia. The third place winners are shared between two universities, Ms.Sanchita S. Kamath and Jerin Jose for “Octabin – Automated Waste Sorter for Efficient Recycling and Dumping” from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, UAE and Ms.Raghad Melhm “Optimum Tilt Angle and Solar Radiation of Photovoltaic Modules for Gulf Collaboration Council Countries” from University of Science and Technology of Fujairah, UAE.
